The Derwent Scottish Pipe Band is a Hobart-based Band, formed in January 1952. Since its inception, the Derwent Scottish Pipe Band has maintained a relatively high profile on the entertainment scene in and around the city of Hobart, performing at a wide variety of functions from year to year, with street parades, in-door and open-air concerts etc

Our Uniform
The Band maintains several uniforms for use across a multitude of occasions whilst maintaining our tartan at the core of each.
The tartan worn by the Band is the Red MacLean of Duart as shown.
Clan MacLean is a Highland Scottish clan. They are one of the oldest clans in the Highlands and owned large tracts of land in Argyll as well as the Inner Hebrides. Many early MacLeans became famous for their honour, strength and courage in battle.
Our Social Arm
The Duart Club is the social arm of the Band. The Band has always engaged in its fair share of social activity. However, it was decided in 2002 following the Band’s 50th Anniversary to draw such activities together under one banner, hence the birth of the Duart Club.
Duart Club membership is automatically available to all playing and non-playing financial members, past and present.
